Loved this place!Simple and quaint spot with lots of local eats and an understanding of the railway station which used to be on the highest altitude in Taiwan. If you are there you cannot miss the smelly tofu!Highly recommended and not touristy!

My tour guide brought us here as it was near the Shengxing Train Station. This was a railway bridge that was disused after a major earthquake broke it up. The remnants of the broken bridge was preserved for historical purposes and tourism, I supposed. At first glance, we marvelled at what the power of an earthquake could do to break such a huge bridge. On a closer look, we realized that the bridge was made almost entirely of red bricks! I couldn't quite see whether steel was used to construct the pillars of the bridge but if it were built just using primarily red bricks, the engineering expertise used back in those days to build the bridge would amaze you. In any case, we spent about 15 minutes here to take photos and a quick lookaround. Pop by if you are around the vicinity. For those who might not be interested in history or engineering stuff, like the ladies in my family, they would likely find it boring.

Date: 25 Nov 2014Time: 30 mins between 4.45 to 5.15pmWe made a quick trip to this station at the recommendation of our Utaxi driver. I told him that I am interested to get stamp chops from train station and he drove us here for free, it is not part of our itinerary. I was so glad to have made this unplanned trip, the place is so romantic during the evening when the lights come on.Get your stamp chops before the shop closes at 5pm. I wish I have more time to try the restaurant on the mountain overlooking the train station.
