隱藏在居民區(qū)內(nèi)，游客不多。建筑有一種滄桑的美感。和那些金碧輝煌的寺廟不同，這里有一種簡(jiǎn)單質(zhì)樸的歷史感。寺廟幾經(jīng)損毀，現(xiàn)在修復(fù)實(shí)屬不易，向木工師傅們致敬。廟門外的菩薩尊者的石雕很有情趣。

嚴(yán)格說(shuō)來(lái)，臺(tái)北和鹿港龍山寺雖均名為「寺」，但并非是純粹佛教寺院，也揉合了民間道教信仰，有中國(guó)化的神祇和造像。鹿港龍山寺采佛教寺屋瓦設(shè)計(jì)不飾琉璃，雕刻精致，造像悠美，廟埕空間開闊氣派高雅，和天后宮應(yīng)是鹿港最值細(xì)細(xì)品味的二所廟宇。

鹿港龍山寺被譽(yù)為臺(tái)灣最具藝術(shù)性的高層木造建筑。那精致的雕刻實(shí)在漂亮。而且安靜的境內(nèi)還有巨木。
