This place screams tourist trap at you at full volume every step you take. That's not to say you see many tourists here, but this place is just built to force everyone into the mold.As everyone mentions, you need to drive here a fair distance along small and windy mountain roads. When you get there, you'll have to navigate the parking lot and hope that you find a space. Then, after 100 dollar entry (which you can actually use toward buying their products), you get to explore the place. Here's what I know about it: there are lots of stores and restaurants. If you're here to take pictures or to buy scented soaps and souvenirs, this is a good place. There's a Lavender house to explore, which I believe was someone's actual house that they have converted (along with the rest of the farm) into this tourist attraction. It's filled with smells and strange objects that you can take pictures with - and there's another shop in there too. If you're into walking the nature trails, they have a few ok ones too. When there are fewer people, I hear there's a lavender ceremony or something.Anyway, I wasn't really that into it. Some people will like it, but I doubt most people would make the journey a second a time.

We drove there with a driver as it was quite far from the main road. If you expect rows of lavender like in Japan, you'll be disappointed. It's a small place but the products and food (their restaurant has really yummy cuisine) made up for its small scale. If you enjoy collecting stamps, there are stamps all around the property, at certain locations you can stamp away! Try their lotions and soaps! In April they seem to have a trail open with fireflies.

It's hard to believe a very French or Italian style cattle garden is located near Taizhong city. Although it requires vehicle to drive to this place, but for those who seek for a quiet and nice walk, this is a great choice for lovers and families to pay a visit. You won't regret the trip. The garden is big and takes some walking. You can stay here for about 2-3 hours to enjoy the view and a cup of tea or coffee.

The lavender farm is about a 1.5 hour drive into the mountains from Taichung city centre. If you don't drive, my last visit here 3 years ago was through a taxi we hired for the day. Just approach a taxi driver and negotiate a price and other attractions they can recommend in the area.It wasn't quite the right season so the lavender weren't in full bloom, but it was still a worthwhile trip. It's a different scenery amongst the mountains, trees, and the lavenders of course. They have a well-packaged and good range of products but can be quite costly. The restaurant here serves very good food but is a bit on the expensive side for Taiwan standards. Definitely try the lavender ice-cream.

There's no public bus that goes directly to this place so u need to get a driver to bring you in. We got our accommodation to arrange one for us. I saw online that you could get it at 2500 to 3000NTD for a day trip to xinshe including this place. Overall, this was a good trip and we could feel the effort the 2 ladies who started this put in the farm. Even the toilets carry their signature soap for people to use and had wooden doors and lavender perfume to give that rustic feel. A disappointment was that the lavenders were not in full bloom when we went (our guide told us the weather is rather weird these days and the blooming season could be pushed back). Must try is the lavender ice cream, with a tinge of lavender and not too sweet. Also try their lavender and rose nougat, otherwise known as 牛軋?zhí)恰?The more you chew the more the flavours comes out. Their soaps are rather unique too. Their moisturising cream is filled with the smell of lavender, though I felt it was similar to that by Crabtree and Evelyn, but u could get one if u wish.
