東方紅廣場(chǎng)坐落于湘潭城市中心區(qū)南北景觀軸上，東抱現(xiàn)代圓潤(rùn)的湘潭大劇院，西擁高雅清秀的廣電中心，南接寬敞平直的芙蓉路，北依山清水秀的湖湘公園，地下有近5萬(wàn)平米的綜合商城。廣場(chǎng)建設(shè)投資逾5億，歷時(shí)近3年。其狀內(nèi)圓外方，面積15公頃，東西長(zhǎng)598米，南北寬248米。東方紅廣場(chǎng)是一個(gè)融紀(jì)念、集會(huì)與休閑諸功能于一體的綜合性文化廣場(chǎng)。

廣場(chǎng)的面積挺大的，綠化的挺好，草坪很干凈，地面也是很整潔的。地處比較繁華的地段，周圍也是很繁華的，廣場(chǎng)上的人也是挺多的，挺熱鬧，有鍛煉健身的，散步的，挺有人氣的廣場(chǎng)。那幾個(gè)大的金黃的葫蘆挺有意思的，蠻顯眼。

所謂的東方紅廣場(chǎng)，其實(shí)就是蘭州的市中心啦，非常的熱鬧，廣場(chǎng)綠化做得不錯(cuò)，有個(gè)大大的噴泉，，偶爾還會(huì)有鴿子飛到廣場(chǎng)上面覓食，很溫馨的場(chǎng)面。交通也很方便，周圍有很多的購(gòu)物中心和美食街，吃貨不要錯(cuò)過(guò)哦。

印象中經(jīng)常變，經(jīng)常修，經(jīng)常改建，幾個(gè)月不見(jiàn)，就又換一個(gè)樣子。春夏秋冬都不一樣，不過(guò)廣場(chǎng)挺大，視野挺寬敞。沒(méi)有特別讓人喜歡的地方。

This is def one of the nicer spots in Lanzhou. Pizza hut one of the few Intl brands to date in Lanzhou is located here. Annoying is the smell but that's the case in many places all over town. Pollution however is far from the problem you are made to believe on the www, at least in Lanzhou you have frequent sunshine which is difficult to find in too many places in China.

The square of Lanzhou. Busy. Many people come here...spending their time with family or friends. Some area closed for new city project. There is a supermarket and department store under the ground. And there a big mall a place for branded store and good quality local brand. There are KFC and Pizza Hut...for your netral and world standard taste.

Dongfanghong is Lanzhou's city square - it's a nice, open, and clean place in a very compact, and at times, very dirty city. It's a pretty place, full of decorative horticulture and there are underground shops nearby and a handful of restaurants. You can have your picture taken there, although, like Tiananmen, it's expensive, and also like Tiananmen, if you're a foreigner, your picture and info is sent to the police station (if you believe that kind of thing).That little bit aside, it's a great place to spend an hour or two either by yourself or with friends! Visit if you have the time!

We walked to the square from our hotel (The Ledison) and it was a nice concrete area with grass. We also enjoyed the underground mall that is located in the square. There were escalators to use. It seemed to go on forever and we enjoyed exploring there. In the underground mall there was a play area for kids and different vendors set up selling their wares.
